Let me tell you about a player with a similar problem…

🎯From Diamond 1 and "Coaching Doesn't Work" to Peaking Champ 2

Meet Hayden aka ‘BurntEnds’ one of our students who went from Diamond 1 to Champ 2.

But it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows…

Back when he originally started coaching with us, Hayden was struggling…

Like many others at his level, he faced several common challenges that were slowing his progress and enjoyment of the game:

• 🎢 Inconsistency: Struggled with maintaining consistent gameplay and rank.

• 🎮 Mechanical Limits: Difficulty mastering advanced mechanics.

• 🤔 Overwhelmed: Knew he had to improve… but didn’t know where to start.

• 🛑 Plateauing: He felt stuck and was unable to make further progress solo.

So… we got him started with our most mechanically CRACKED coach, a CRL and pro freestyler.

Good idea… right?

🚀 Not quite the best idea. The problem was, his coach was so mechanically advanced that there was a disconnect.

His coach was great at DOING the mechanics… but not so great at TEACHING them… 😔

Hayden explained that his coach could show him all the mechanics in the world… but when Hayden was trying to do it, his coach’s advice wasn’t working.

The point is, there’s a big difference between being a good player and being a good coach.

🤝 That’s why earlier this year, we developed a new matchmaking process so that each of our students gets matched with the coach that is best for them.

We repaired Hayden with a new coach and restarted him for free. This is when Hayden found his current coach, SirPuf.

SirPuf was able to break down mechanics in a way that he could easily understand and the rest (+350 MMR) is history. 📈

🔄 TLDR; not ALL RL advice is helpful. Just because someone is a great player, doesn’t mean they are a great coach.

Its important that you only follow advice from someone you can trust. Otherwise, you might train the wrong things and develop bad habits.

So the next time you’re friend tells you “I just ball chase and that works for me” maybe take their advice with a grain of salt… LOL
