Retirement Update, A Big Partnership, And Standing on Business

Behind the scenes w/ SpookLuke

A LETTER FROM LUKE:
I’m leveling up the quality of these emails. Some of you guys responded to my last email and asked if its really Luke (me). I took that to heart. I’m going to make these more personal, pack them with more value, and most importantly, make them look better (lol).

No spam. That’s my commitment to you.

In today’s email:

  • Retirement? Update on the future of my Youtube channel.

  • A Big Partnership: Why I’ve been so secretive lately.

  • A day in the life of Luke: Work, working out, and daily life of a washed Youtuber clinging on for dear life to this dying car soccer game lmao.

WORD OF THE WEEK:

British slang for something super attractive.
Ex. “That girl Dante has a boys name but trust me she is soooo Leng”

YOUTUBE
Retirement update:

9 Months ago, I uploaded Why I’m Quitting Rocket League. In this video, I detailed that I would be looking to move away from Rocket League content. As this transition nears, I’ve come to realize that I’ve fulfilled my initial mission: creating an educational database for the average player.

At this point, I am faced with two options:
#1 - Endlessly grind to reach SSL to cater to the 1% of my audience desiring such content, or
#2 - Recycle and repackage my existing videos.

Frankly, both options feel less than appealing.

Thus, I’ve decided to shift gears. The time is now. I will be moving away from a set YouTube upload schedule. This doesn’t mean I will never upload again, it just means the days of 2-3x/week uploads are likely gone. Expect weekly or less from here on out.

This decision has been made possible by a transformative new partnership…

P.S. 4 years ago, I never imagined that my channel would look like this. Multiple videos with 1m views!? Your support is unreal. You have genuinely changed my life

COACHING
A Big Partnership: The Secret’s Out

Me awkwardly smiling for the Press Release. (Also, funnily, the same moment I knew my modeling career was over, LOL)

You might have noticed I’ve been quite secretive lately. The truth is, most of my time isn’t spent making YouTube videos.

With an amazing editing team by my side, only about 5-10% of my work hours go into content creation—just 3-4 hours one day a week.

Shoutout to the editing team behind the scenes. (Not sponsored)

So where does the rest of my time go? I pour my heart and soul into building our coaching platform, GrandChampBootcamp.com. At the GCB, we’re on a mission to make real Rocket League education accessible to everyone. We giveaway all of our content for free, and only sell help with the implementation. No $50 courses here, folks. We release them all for free inside the Grand Champ Bootcamp Free Edition.

Recently, I decided I need a partner to reach the next level. That’s why a few months back, I set out to find someone with three (3) essential qualities:

#1 - Extensive coaching experience at the highest levels of Rocket League
#2 - A knack for creating engaging YouTube content
#3 - Profound understanding and care for the Rocket League community.

After many months of searching, I’ve found that person.

This weekend, I’ll be unveiling my new partner.

Real reactions from players getting coached by my new partner LOL.

Stay tuned for the reveal video going live this Saturday.

WHAT’S NEXT?
Life after YouTube…

Finally, what's next for me after this partnership... if not Youtube? The plan is for 80% of my time to be on the coaching company and 20% of my time to go towards creating new Youtube content.

Wait Luke, didn’t you say you’re done with Youtube?

- You (probably)

Plot twist: I might be leaving Rocket League, but I’ll still be on Youtube…

Context: I've been making Youtube videos since I was 12 years old and I can't imagine giving up that dream anytime soon. I love to create. I feel the next phase of my life will be creating content that speaks to the place I'm at in my life now.

This means I will slowly move away from Rocket League content and into the dreaded "lifestyle" content (cringe, I know).

Not to worry. Lifestyle content doesn’t mean I’m gonna start posting what I eat in a day LOL. Lifestyle means health, business, fitness, and/or whatever is important for a 22 year old bachelor living in Chicago. I want to make content that I wish I had 4 years ago when I started this wild, Youtube, Rocket League, business journey.

Bottom Line: I need to spread my wings outside Rocket League.

Most importantly, I want to create stuff that feels new and exciting. I hope it will be more valuable for you, too.

BONUS:

Thank you for your continued support and understanding as I navigate these changes. I can't wait to bring you along on this next phase of my journey.

Warm regards,
Luke aka “SpookyLuke”

P.S. To those of you asking, you’re not crazy. I did change my name from SpookLuke to SpookyLuke. I’ll always be SpookLuke for the OGs. :)
